Fans at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul are expecting a thrilling quarterfinal match-up between Greece and Russia in the Eurobasket.

The Greeks defeated Lithuania 77-64 in the Round-of-16 on Saturday with Kostas Sloukas leading the way with 21 points highlighted by five triples. The Fenerbahce guard is again expected to make an impact against the Russians and he will get support from Georgios Printezis and Nick Calathes.

Head coach Konstantinos Missas will also rely on Nikos Pappas, Ioannis Bourousis, Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Kostas Papanikolaou. Greece last made the semifinals in 2009 when it finished third behind Spain and Serbia.

Russia, meanwhile, was hardly tested in the last 16 as it rolled past Croatia 101-78 on Sunday. Aleksei Shved had another impressive showing as the Khimki guard finished with 27 points and 12 assists.

NBA veteran Timofey Mozgov is also out to impress head coach Sergey Bazarevich along with CSKA Moscow mainstays Vitaliy Fridzon and Nikita Kurbanov. The Russians last reached the semifinals of this competition in 2011 when they eventually placed third.

The winner of this game will play either Serbia or Italy in the semifinals.  Greece defeated Russia 80-71 in the 2013 Eurobasket in their last meeting in this competition.
