New Zealand and Jordan duel in the FIBA Asia Cup quarterfinal in Lebanon on Thursday.
 
The Tall Blacks advanced directly to the quarterfinal by topping Group C. They actually ended up in a three-way tie with Lebanon and South Korea with 2-1 records but had a superior points difference over the other teams. 

Guards Shea Ili and Derone Raukawa will lead the Kiwis in their quest to reach the medal round. Ili averaged team-highs 14.7 points and 4 assists in the group phase while Raukawa put up 12 points per game. Other scoring options for head coach Paul Henare are Finn Delany, Reuben Te Rangi, Tohi Smith-Milner and young center Samuel Timmins.

Jordan, meanwhile, beat West Asian rival Iraq 84-70 in the playoffs to reach the quarterfinal. Guards Mahmoud Abdeen and Amin Abuhawwas scored 18 points apiece while center Mohammad Hussein had 15 points and 19 rebounds.

Abdeen, who leads the team in scoring and assists, is again expected to spearhead Jordan's offense along with Hussein, Mousa Alawadi and Ahmad Alhamarsheh.

Whoever wins this game will proceed to the semifinals to play either Australia or China.
