The third match between Pakistan and a World XI is set to be a thriller at Qaddafi Stadium on Friday with the series delicately poised at 1-1.

The World XI levelled the series on Wednesday with a seven wicket victory over Pakistan in the second contest of the series despite excellent performances from Fakhar Zaman (21), Ahmed Shahzad (43), Babar Azam (45), Shoaib Malik (39) and Imad Wasim (15).

Pakistan scored 174 runs off their allotted overs for the loss of 6 wickets but that wasn't enough to secure victory with Hashim Amla in fine scoring form as he registered 72 runs off 55 balls with five boundaries and two sixes while Thisara Perera took 47 off 19 after replacing Faf du Plesis (20 runs off 14 balls).

The World XI had been handed a 20-run defeat by Pakistan in the first T20I and in the aftermath of that loss Paul Colllingwood had recognised that it would take the visitors time to gel.

"You know, when a World XI comes together, it takes some time to know each other and certainly Faf understands the players' role in the team, what kind of tactics he is going to use when players are coming on to bowl. It's not to going to gel immediately, so hopefully after today's game we will take a little bit of information out of the game and we can use that in the next game to have a better performance," Collingwood told reporters.

Evidently the tourists have found their feet, which bodes well for Friday's deciding contest.
