The all-new World Series event will feature 16 players battling it out over two days of action at the Castello Arena from October 20-21.

It will be the last World Series event prior to November's finals in Glasgow - which will see the top eight in the World Series Order of Merit secure guaranteed qualification.

World Champion Michael van Gerwen missed the World Series treble-header in New Zealand and Australia in August but will resume his quest next month as he bids to follow up victories in Shanghai and Las Vegas earlier this year with a third World Series title of 2017.

Gary Anderson, the winner in Dubai and Perth, will be the top seed for the German Masters, with Melbourne Masters winner Phil Taylor and Auckland Masters champion Kyle Anderson also looking to continue their success after claiming World Series wins this year.

UK Open champion Peter Wright, five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld, two-time World Series finalist James Wade and US Masters runner-up Gurney complete the field of PDC competitors in Dusseldorf.

With the World Series visiting the darting hotbed of Germany for the first time, the line-up will also feature eight German players - headlined by former World Youth Champion Max Hopp and Berlin-based youngster Martin Schindler - who are the top two German players from the PDC Order of Merit.

A further six players will qualify from the final German Superleague rankings on October 9 to complete the field of home players alongside Hopp and Schindler, with the current leading players in the rankings including former World Championship qualifiers Kevin Munch and Stefan Stoyke and former World Cup of Darts representative Maik Langendorf.

World number seven Mensur Suljovic - the most successful German-speaking player in PDC history - is a surprise omission from the star-studded line-up as he continues to await his first World Series invite.

The eight PDC Representatives will be drawn against the eight German qualifiers for the tournament's opening night before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final take place on Day Two.
