Bale in contention for Real return

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is in line for a comeback from a three-week injury lay-off against Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday evening.

The 26-year-old has not played a full game for the Spanish giants in two months due to a calf problem and has been omitted from the squad for Wales' friendly with the Netherlands on 13 November.

Bale returned to training for top of the table Real ahead of the Sevilla game.

Real are unbeaten in La Liga and the Champions League this season and travel to Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán to face the Sevillistas having equalled their best all-time defensive start to the season.

With 10 games played in the league thus far, Los Blancos have only conceded four goals which is something they haven't managed since the 1961/62 campaign when they went on to win the title.

Rafael Benitez's go into this weekend's round of fixtures level on 24 points with bitter rivals Barcelona, who are at home to fourth-placed Villarreal on Sunday.

Real are top though due to their superior goal difference.

Sevilla are down in 11th in the standings and will be even more fired up for the game as it comes hot on the heels of a 3-1 home defeat by Manchester City in the Champions League.
