Bradford v Millwall previewBradford City have enjoyed a fine season under the guidance of former player Stuart McCall. The Scottish boss has made his team a very difficult one to beat, particularly at home and in fact, his side went the whole campaign unbeaten at Valley Parade this season where they play in front of one of the largest average crowds in the division.
After battling through to another home win in the first leg of their play-off semi-final against Fleetwood Town, the Bantams were able to hold onto their slender lead by earning a goalless draw in the second leg to set up this final with Millwall. Will the West Yorkshire side be celebrating one of the most important wins of their recent history this weekend?
Millwall needed a late winner in their match against Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season to finally secure their play-off position this year. The Lions actually made it to the final last year before being pipped to promotion by Barnsley at Wembley Stadium, so they'll be desperate to ensure that this time around they are the ones celebrating promotion on the hallowed turf.
Neil Harris' men were held to a goalless draw with Scunthorpe in the first leg of their play-off semi-final, but produced a fine performance in an enthralling second leg to win 2-3 at Glanford Park. With the motivation to right the wrongs of last year's heartache, the Londoners are slight favourites.
We aren't backing many goals in this game. Wembley finals with so much at stake can at times be nervy affairs with few chances at either end and after Bradford kept clean sheets in both of their play-off semi-final legs and Millwall in one of theirs, we can see the defences coming out on top here.
It's hard to pick a winner between two such well-matched sides at a neutral venue. Both of the regular season matches between these two ended in 1-1 draws so extra-time and penalties may well be on the cards.
