1. Gerd Müller

Gerd Müller finished top scorer in the Bundesliga on seven occasions during a 15 year spell at Bavarian giants Bayern Munich, where he netted a phenomenal 398 goals in just 453 appearances. In the German top flight, he bagged 365 goals making him the leading scorer in the Bundesliga's history.

2. Klaus Fischer 

Klaus Fischer scored 268 Bundesliga goals during a career that saw him play for four teams in the German top flight - TSV 1860 München, FC Schalke 04, 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum - but was most notable for his spell at Schalke for whom he represented from 1970–1981. 3. Jupp Heynckes

Jupp Heynckes is next on the list with 220 career Bundesliga goals. Heynckes spent most of his career at Borussia Mönchengladbach during a golden era for the club in the 1960s and the 1970s when they won five Bundesliga titles. Heynckes, who went on to guide Bayern Munich to an unprecedented Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and UEFA Champions League treble in 2013, scored 168 goals in just 226 appearances for the club.

4. Manfred Burgsmüller

Manfred Burgsmüller enjoyed a 17 season Bundesliga career, scoring 213 goals in 447 fixtures. He was a member of the 1987/88 Werder Bremen title winning squad and also represented the likes of Borussia Dortmund, 1. FC Nürnberg and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. His best return was at the latter when he scored 27 goals in the 1980/81 season.

5. Ulf Kirsten

Ulf Kirsten's impressive record of 182 goals in 350 Bundesliga matches was accomplished during his 13-year spell at Bayern Leverkusen. He finished as the league's top goalscorer in three different seasons (1992–93, 1996-97 & 1997-98).
