Preview

Millwall needed a late winner in their match against Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season to finally secure their play-off position this year. The Lions actually made it to the final last year before being pipped to promotion by Barnsley at Wembley Stadium, so they'll be desperate to ensure this year they can go one step further and book a return to the Championship.

Even finishing in the play-offs hasn't been plain sailing for the Lions though and at one point in the early stages of the campaign it seemed as though Neil Harris' men may actually have to concern themselves more with the relegation zone, but some strong home form has earned them a top six spot and favourites tag in this game.

Scunthorpe United have deservedly earned a play-off spot this year. The Iron were sitting pretty at the top of the table for quite some time but they were unable to continue that terrific form throughout the season and it came as no surprise to most when they started to slip away, but they've definitely done enough to secure 3rd position in the final table.

Graham Alexander has built a squad of players both experienced and capable at this level and those players have ended the season in fine form following some struggles in February in March. The Humberside club come into the play-offs on the back of five consecutive victories and no doubt with the confidence to go for another here.

Millwall have so many quality attack-minded players to call upon and they showed their attacking strength by racking up four goals against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the season, whilst both teams have found the net in each of Scunthorpe's last three matches suggesting there'll be goals to be had.

Lee Gregory will lead the line for the Lions once again. The former Halifax man has been in fine form this term and his two vital goals at the Memorial Stadium on the final day not only helped confirm his side's play-off spot, they also took his season tally to an impressive 17 league goals.
