Last season's runners up Roma host Udinese this weekend looking to secure their fourth win of the new campaign and to stay in touch with the top six on whom they boast a game in hand. The Giallorossi come into the clash in seventh in the standings on nine points, six adrift of top two Napoli and Juve having played a game less and suffered a Matchday 2 loss at home to Inter Milan (1-3).

The Wolves appear to have recovered well from that setback as they went on to take a point from 2016 UEFA Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid (0-0) in Group C of this season's tournament and went on to outclass Hellas Verona (3-0) at home last week and thump Benevento 4-0 away in midweek.

Edin Dzeko scored a brace in the latter encounter and was full of praise of Eusebio Di Francesco’s new Roma system, insisting the team will only improve as the season progresses.

"Every victory is worth three points, so it doesn’t matter who we play against,” the Bosnian said after the match. “We played our game today and did well, let’s continue in this manner.

"People used to say that Roma would drop points against the lesser sides, but there are no easy fixtures. We put in a good performance today. We all need to develop together and I think we’re doing a good job of it."

Udinese, meanwhile, have struggled in early part of the new campaign and have managed just one win in four games, with narrow losses to Chievo (1-2), SPAL (3-2) and Milan (2-1) endured in the process.

The Bianconeri Friuliani can take some comfort from the fact that they have netted at least one goal in all of their four games, however, and will feel its only a matter of time before they put together a winning streak

The visitors may have to wait a little while longer before embarking on that run though, as Roma boast an eight-match winning streak in their head-to-head encounters with Udinese since October 2013. They earned a narrow 0-1 win in their last clash back in January.
