Chelsea's Diego Costa looks set to become the highest paid player in world football amidst rumours of a £650,000 offer from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.

The Brazilian-born forward has reportedly fallen out with Blues boss Antonio Conte on more than one occasion this season as he looks to force through a mega-money deal in China.

Rumours at that time were circulating that Costa, who plays his international football for Spain, was set for a move to Tianjun Quanjian, owned by billionaire Shu Yuhui.

And now the owner has added fuel to the fire regarding this summer's transfer activities by claiming that two or three huge stars have verbally agreed contracts with the club prior to the transfer window re-opening.

With 19 league goals to his name this season, the 28 year old has been key to Chelsea's title charge, as he was two seasons ago as he finished the club's top scorer in their title-winning campaign.

As such, it will take a huge transfer fee for the London club to part with one of their key players but reports on Friday suggest that the side managed by Fabio Cannavaro are willing to part with upwards of £60m to get their man.

With the Chinese Super League quickly becoming one of the richest in the world, it's no surprise to hear that Costa could be set to earn around £650,000 a week in Tianjin, more than quadrupling his current wages at Stamford Bridge.

Given how much talent Costa has, it'd be a surprise if some of Europe's top clubs weren't courting him too, but it appears as though the Chinese Super League club have the financial means to tempt him away from London this summer.
