The Parramatta Eels pushed minor premiers Melbourne Storm all the way last week, going down by two points as they lost the Qualifying Final 18-16 and will be out to avoid a straight sets exit on Saturday night.
The North Queensland Cowboys needed extra time in their Elimination Final against defending champions Cronulla Sharks to win through to this Semi Final as they claimed a 15-14 golden point victory.
Things don't get any easier for the Cowboys this week either as they head back on the road to Sydney to face an Eels side which ended the season in a rich vein of form.
Parramatta have won nine of their last 11 games, pushed the Storm close last week, and have been one of the NRL's form sides in the second half of the campaign.
The Cowboys did smash Parramatta 32-6 when they last met in Sydney in June, but this is a different Eels side now and they will be hard to beat this time around.
It is 1-1 for the season, the Eels having won 26-6 in Townsville in April, and 4-3 in the Cowboys' favour from the last seven meetings.
Despite the wide-margin wins in both games this season, this one should be another tight one for both sides and go down to the wire like last week's finals.
With the Cowboys have endured extra time last week, expect the slightly fresher Eels to edge it and set up a Preliminary date with the Sydney Roosters next week.
Both sides won away from home in the two meetings in the regular seasonThe last seven head to heads are split 4-3 in the Cowboys' favourThe Eels have won nine of their last 11 games
Parramatta Eels are still without Bevan French so name an unchanged side from the one which went down to the Storm.
The North Queensland Cowboys also name the side, although Justin O'Neill has been included among the reserves and could return from injury on Saturday.
