Mark Allen will be eager to build on his momentum when he faces Switzerland’s Alexander Ursenbacher in round two of the 2017 Indian Open on Thursday, while John Higgins and Shaun Murphy are also in action in Vishakhapatnam.

The second round takes centre stage on day three of the fourth ranking event of this season, with the 32 remaining players battling it out for the 16 places on offer on Friday.
World number 11 Allen was inspired form as he opened the tournament with a bang on Wednesday – outscoring Niu Zhuang by 344 points to 30 in a comprehensive 4-0 whitewash.
The Pistol hit breaks of 83, 89 and 79 along the way and will certainly be hoping for more of the same against Ursenbacher, who ousted Andrew Higginson in the opening round.
Also in action are the three other members of the top 16 to have made the trip to India this week.
World number five Shaun Murphy faces a tricky test in the methodical Fergal O’Brien as Stuart Bingham plays Matthew Selt, while John Higgins shall be seeking a much less stressful showdown with Martin O’Donnell having been taken to a decider by Chinese prodigy Zhao Xintong on Wednesday.
Reigning champion Anthony McGill resumes his title defence with what promises to be a tough task against Rory McLeod, as Masters finalist Joe Perry and David Gilbert take on Elliot Slessor and Kurt Maflin respectively.
Ricky Walden, who reached the final of this event in 2015, is another of the remaining top-32 players in the draw. He goes up against Ben Woollaston and Mark King clashes with former World champion Graeme Dott, while Michael Holt plays Gary Wilson.
Ken Doherty bids to continue his recent resurgence against Sam Baird, as Dominic Dale faces 2016 quarter-finalist Akani Songsermsawad and Tian Pengfei and Zhang Anda collide in an all-Chinese battle.
Elsewhere, Hossein Vafaei locks horns with Gerard Greene and Yu Delu takes on Liam Highfield, while Sean O’Sullivan goes up against Xu Si.
Day three of the 2017 Indian Open breaks off at 5am BST on Thursday, with all second-round matches contested over the best of seven frames in Vishakhapatnam.
