The Colorado Rockies are in danger of being dislodged by the Milwaukee Brewers for the second wildcard berth in the National League after losing their last three games.

They currently have an 82-70 record, just a game ahead of the Brewers (81-71). The Rockies are gearing up for their four-game series against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in the second duel between the National League West rivals in a week.

Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado are hoping to do better on the plate following their 0-4 defeat at San Francisco on Tuesday.

Colorado starter Tyler Anderson (5-5) will try to duplicate his feat in their 16-0 rout of the Padres at Coors Field last Saturday where he gave up two hits and two walks and struck out three in in six innings.

The Padres (68-83), meanwhile, are no longer in the running for a postseason berth but they have won their last three games. They are coming off a 6-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks

Starting for the Padres is Clayton Richard (7-14), who was credited with their 1-6 loss at Colorado last Friday where he gave up seven hits and four runs and struck out three in six innings.
