MercedesCup

Roger Federer makes a welcome return to the ATP World Tour as he headlines a strong ATP 250 field at the MercedesCup in Stuttgart as the grass season gets underway.

The Swiss has been out of action since March when he captured back-to-back Masters 1000 titles at Indian Wells and Miami. Federer skipped the entire clay court season and makes his long-awaited return to competition in Germany.

He is joined in the draw by Australian Open semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov, third seed Tomas Berdych and local veteran and close friend Tommy Haas - whom he could face in the second round.

Australia vs. Brazil

Australia host Brazil in a friendly clash on Tuesday (1105 BST) hoping to continue their fine form and hold off their in-form rivals. They face a tough task though with some key players missing, while Brazil have been in red-hot form of late. The Samba Boys were on a nine-match winning streak before losing to bitter rivals Argentina last Friday.

The sides last met back in 2013 and Australians won't have fond memories of that day, as they suffered a 6-0 thumping loss in Brasilia. Brazil have earned three wins and one draw in five head-to-head encounters, with just one loss on the record.

Singapore vs. Argentina

Argentina are in Singapore for a friendly clash on Tuesday (1300 BST), just days after beating Brazil 1-0 in Australia, hoping to retain consistency and outgun their rivals.

Singapore have managed one win in just over a year, with eight losses and four stalemates also to their name. They did earn two draws earlier this year, sharing the spoils with Bahrain (0-0) and Myanmar (1-1) but in Jorge Sampaoli’s men face a massive challenge.

ICC Champions Trophy

Pakistan won a remarkable see-saw game against Sri Lanka on Monday by three wickets to book their place in the semi-finals of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy where they will play England on Wednesday (1030 BST), as the competition reaches the business end of proceedings.

Bangladesh and India face off in the other semi on Thursday.
