The top eight men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams on the FIVB World Rankings will descend on Germany this month to compete for world glory at the $800,000 event.

Headlining the tournament are 2017 World Champions Evandro Goncalves/Andre Loyola of Brazil following their marvelous performance in Vienna this summer. Silver medal winners Clemens Doppler/Alexander Horst of Austria and third-place finishers Viacheslav Krasilnikov/Nikita Liamin of Russia will also be heading to Hamburg.

Other men’s teams include Saymon Barbosa/Alvaro Filho of Brazil, Italy's Daniele Lupo/Paolo Nicolai, Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak of Poland, Adrian Gavira/Pablo Herrera of Spain and Phil Dalhausser/Nick Lucena of the United States.

Brazil's Talita Antunes/Larissa Franca, who captured the gold medal at the inaugural Swatch FIVB World Tour Finals in 2015 on Fort Lauderdale Beach in the United States, are the top seeded women's side.

The duo could only manage third at the Beach Volleyball World Championships, however, after defeating Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan in the bronze medal match.

They'll be joined by the likes of Barbora Hermannova/Marketa Slukova and Kristyna Kolocova/Michala Kvapilova of the Czech Republic in a stellar field.

Men’s qualifiers: Dalhausser/Lucena (USA), Evandro/Andre (Brazil), Kantor/Losiak (Poland), Krasilnikov/Liamin (Russia), Alvaro Filho/Saymon (Brazil), Lupo/Nicolai (Italy), Doppler/Horst (Austria), Herrera/Gavira (Spain).

Women’s qualifiers: Larissa/Talita (Brazil), Laboureur/Sude (Germany), Pavan/Humana-Paredes (Canada), Agatha/Duda (Brazil), Hermannova/Slukova  (Czech Republic), Heidrich/Vergé-Dépré (Switzerland), Kolocova/Kvapilova (Czech Republic), Sweat/Summer (USA).
