Serbia begins the third and final week of the FIVB World Grand Prix Intercontinental Round against Russia at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
The Balkan side is tied with the Netherlands at the top of the overall team standings with 15 points apiece on 5-1 records. The Serbians opened Week 2 with a straight-set defeat to Brazil but bounced back with victories over Japan (3-0) and Thailand (3-1).
Brankica Mihajlovic is again expected to showcase her offensive prowess being the fourth-leading scorer in the tournament. She will get support from Stefana Veljkovic, Jovana Stevanovic, Ana Bjelica and Sanja Malagurski.
Russia, meanwhile, needs to do well this week to keep its dwindling Final Round hopes alive. They kicked off Week 2 in Kaliningrad with back-to-back wins over the Dominican Republic (3-1) and Belgium (3-0) only to be swept by the Dutch in their last match.
Irina Voronkova and Irina Fetisova will lead Russia's attacks. Backing up the star duo are Kseniia Parubets, Irina Zaryazhko and Mariia Frolova.
Serbia beat Russia in five sets in the Boris Yeltsin Cup in Yekaterinburg last June 30 in the most recent meeting between the two sides.
