About Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour FinalsThe Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series, otherwise known as the Swatch Major Series, is an international series of tournaments that form part of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour that concludes with the Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals.

There were three Major stops on the 2017 FIVB World Tour - Poreč, Stavanger and Gstaad. Overall the 2017 World Tour calendar consisted of three FIVB World Tour 5-star tournaments, two 4-star, four 3-star, four 2-star and six 1-star events.

The World Tour was first held for men in 1989 before being joined by women in 1992, however, the season ending Finals were only introduced in 2015. Brazil's Alison Cerutti/Bruno Oscar Schmidt and compatriots Talita Antunes/Larissa França won the maiden Finals in the men's and women's divisions respectively. The top 12 teams per gender qualify to participate at the event.

Winning the World Tour is next only to the World Championships and Olympic Games in terms of prestige in the sport.
